OUR DEFINITION OF SUSTAINABILITY
It is unfortunate, but cheap and abundant energy supplies have allowed us to turn our backs to the many natural rhythms of life – a building’s orientation to the sun, the way the wind blows or the use of locally sourced materials. But now the time has come for us to consider a much more sensitive and long-term view of how we live, acknowledging that we are still deeply connected to those rhythms.

“Sustainability” has become one of the most talked-about, but least understood words today. At Roffé Paraíso our concept of sustainability goes well beyond the current “green” marketing hype that seems so prevalent today. We are embracing today’s latest building technologies so that we may provide clean, self-sufficient energy sources, use natural and recycled building materials, provide efficient and reclaimed water systems, incorporate car-sharing programs, and as much as we can, utilize local materials and labor force. It’s all about encouraging new ideas, new technologies, and understanding the delicate balance between man and what nature has so abundantly provided us.
